    He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
    Psalm 126:5-6
    Are you faithfully doing the work of an evangelist? The Word of God is clear that we, as Christian Believers ought to be involved in the ministry of evangelism as a way of life. Jesus taught this principle in the book of Matthew. Let’s look at the parable of the Sower found in chapter 13.
    It should be noted that through this teaching we are to grasp that Christ is both the Sower and Seed. In addition, Christ is teaching that we ought to be preaching the same message that He did. We are to then Preach The Gospel; Tell Men. How they respond depends upon the condition of their heart. Remember that all men have the potential to receive the seed of the word. As John MacArthur has rightly preached, “Dirt is dirt.”
    I don’t want to belabor the point but do want to encourage you in what may at times seem a very hard work. We expect unresponsiveness when we preach the gospel. (Don’t get discouraged) Evangelism is our call but realize, as laid out in this parable, that the ultimate result of your preaching and spreading of the gospel is the condition of the hearer’s heart. In essence Jesus’ teaching here shows that our responsibility is to be like Him and sow the Seed of the Word. We have the written Word of God and Christ is both written of and living in the Word of God. He is the Word. So then the question often times is not are you presenting your gospel correctly but will your hearer receive Jesus Christ?
    “Don’t get caught up in your “how””
    If you are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as it is revealed to us in Scripture then you are doing your part. Realize this,
    ”Seed by its very nature cannot be created.”
    The origination comes from God and seed reproduces and brings to us the fruit. What is in it will bear fruit under the right conditions.
    “God’s word will accomplish what it was sent out to do.”
    As evangelists, missionaries we should never forget that Satan, our enemy, comes to kill and destroy. We are in a constant battle and struggle for the souls of men, women, boys and girls. We wrestle against these principalities and rulers in high places (Ephesians 6) through the use of our warfare weapons which include the Word of God and Prayer. Learn to recognize the presence of satanic strongholds upon the hearts of the resistant listener and fight for that soul using Scripture. When you observe a great love of sin, procrastination, pride, rudeness, unresponsiveness and contempt for God, know that you are encountering one like the fool mentioned in Proverbs who has said in his heart there is not God. God gives grace to the humble; but He opposes the proud.
    I leave you with this as encouragement to stay the course and continue to Preach the Word!
    “You are called to be a sower and do what Jesus did.”
    If you love Christ and His message then pass it on. Your take away today is this: the Seed equals the Word of God, the Soil equals the heart of the hearer, and The condition of the hearer’s heart determines their reaction to the Word of God.
    “The mark of salvation equals fruit!”
    Ephesians 6:10-20 (KJV)
    10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
    11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
    12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
    16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
    17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
    18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
    19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
    20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
    Be Blessed,
    Robin
